Standing commitees
The Committee shall be the Club’s Think-Tank and shall be responsible for:
- The formulation of strategies for the promotion of peace, harmony
and sustainable development in Etsako and amongst Etsako people
and communities. - Exploring ways and means for providing essential amenities and infrastructure in Etsako.
- Pursuing measures to ensure that Etsako sons and daughters have opportunities and are empowered to make meaningful contributions toward the economic and social development of Etsako, Edo State, and Nigeria.
- Coordinating the Club’s role in ensuring good governance, accountability of the Local Government Council, and the effectiveness and accountability of all elected representatives of Etsako people in all tiers of government.
The Committee shall choose its Chairman and Secretary whose tenure shall conform to the tenure of the National Executive Committee. The function of the Committee shall be to examine and make a recommendation on matters:
- Referred to it by the National Executive Committee;
- Referred to it by concerned members of the Club;
- Discipline of members;
- Considered by the Committee to be advantageous to the welfare, progress, and image of the Club.
- In the case of a crisis in the Club, the Committee is empowered to take decisions including discipline and punishment of any erring member(s), and such decision shall be binding and shall be enforced by the Executive Committee.
The Committee shall be responsible for:
- Initiating and executing approved programs in pursuit of the Club’s objectives for the educational advancement of Etsako.
- Administering the Club’s scholarship, bursary, and any similar programs
- Managing the Club’s Educational Endowment Fund in collaboration with the Finance Committee
The Committee shall be responsible for:
- The implementation of all guidelines, regulations, or decisions of the Annual General Meeting, General Meeting, and the Executive Committee of the Club on the admission and welfare of members.
- Advancing and promoting the welfare of members.
- Managing the Group Life Insurance Scheme for Members and any other such schemes as may be decided by the Club.
- Arranging visits to members who are ill or bereaved.
- Investigating cases of members who are alleged to have conducted themselves in a manner detrimental or injurious to the interest of the Club outside Club meetings and recommending appropriate action or disciplinary measure to the General Meeting.
- Maintaining an up-to-date register of Members, Distant Members, and Honorary Members.
- Processing requests by members for financial assistance and making appropriate recommendations to the Executive Committee.
- Production of attendance chart annually.
The Committee shall be responsible for:
- Initiating activities for the promotion of Etsako culture.
- Logistics and all related activities in the preparation for all social and cultural activities or ceremonies e.g. birthdays, weddings, and other landmark events.
- Ensuring that all members fully participate in social events organized by the Club or individual members.
- Promoting the interests, prospects, welfare, and development of the Etsako Youth.
- Organizing activities to foster the socio-cultural affinity of Etsako youths and work with any affiliated Etsako Youth Association for the achievement of the objectives of the Association to the extent that such objectives are compatible and in accord with the provisions of this Constitution.
The Committee shall be responsible for:
- Raising funds for the Club.
- Coordinating the duties of the Financial Secretary and the Treasurer.
- Sourcing avenues for funding activities of the Club.
- Quarterly review of the financial status of members and recommending appropriate recovery measures for overdue funds from members.
- Assisting the President in preparing the Club’s annual budget and issuing quarterly budget performance advice to the Executive Committee.
- Investigating alleged cases of embezzlement, financial and misappropriation, and irregularities and submitting a report to the General Meeting.
- Advising the Executive Committee on funds management and Investment.
The Committee shall be responsible for:
- Intervening in and advising on and sensitizing on the health and medical concerns and wellbeing of the Club’s members and of Etsako communities at large.
- Partnering with Governments at all levels (including Federal, State, and Local Governments), Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), International Health Organizations, and Local Health Organizations and Pharmaceutical Companies for public enlightenment and health awareness campaigns in communities and schools in Etsako land.
- Campaign against environmental hazards and unhygienic and unhealthy lifestyles.
- To liaise with relevant local and international donor organizations for free medical assistance.
- Sourcing for funds for the Club’s medical outreach programs.
- And to carry on any other programs and activities that may be approved by the General Meeting of the Club from time to time to help in promoting good health and wellness of members and inhabitants of communities in Etsako land.
The Committee shall be responsible for:
- To liaise with Etsako Youth Club.
- To oversee the activities of the Club.
The Committee shall be responsible for:
- Formulating policies for publicizing the activities of the Club and matters affecting Etsako
- Publicizing the activities of the Club.
- Initiating awareness programs on current issues in Etsako, Edo state, and Nigeria.
- Promoting awareness among Etsako people at home and abroad of all strategic, political, social, and economic issues.
The Committee shall be responsible for:
- Searching for land or dilapidated property for acquisition in Lagos.
- Liaising with our Traditional Rulers for the acquisition of lands in Etsako land where the Club indicates interest.
- Managing the lands and properties of the Club.
The Committee is the gateway or interface between the Parent or National body and its branches.
Its remit, includes, but not limited to:
- help identify good locations with appreciable number of eligible Etsako sons and daughters who identify with the Club, and ready to join the Club in its agenda of advancing the overall well-being of Etsako people, and the development of our homelands; and assist such persons with the process of forming a branch of the Club in the location where they are.
- constantly engage with branches after formation, through the formative stages, until they can operate on their own: and to ensure that they align their vision and mission with that of the National which currently sits in Lagos.
- work closely with the existing branches to ensure that their plans/goals align with the overall objectives of the Club. (b) engage the branches to ensure a seamless working relationship with the National body including an effective monitoring/reporting mechanism.
